Inside the Book:
Barns of Treasure Valley

Sam Gross Barn

This fully restored barn was built by Sam Gross in the 1920s.  It was one of three or four farms  (and barns) that he owned in the area.

The Black Cat Barn

Sadly, this barn was recently destroyed to make way for an office/warehouse development. Frederick Eggers was an early pioneer to the area.

The Skoggsberg Barn

Built in 1915 when the Skoggsbergs moved to the Nampa area.  Seeing this barn is like stepping into a time machine to the 1920s.

The Ayres Barn

James Ayres was a self-made man, building it all from almost nothing.  It was one of the largest cattle and dairy operations in the northern part of the valley.
