What I'm Working on
I love a new project and all the excitement it brings and the places it takes me.

This book follows our journey along the Lower Mississippi River as we explored the many stops along the way.
The Mississippi River has always been more than a river. It is a corridor of history, commerce, and culture that shaped much of the American interior.
In this project I am traveled the lower Mississippi, stopping in the towns that grew along its banks and exploring the landscapes, architecture, and stories that developed around the river.
My goal is not just to describe the scenery but to understand how the river shaped the lives of the people who lived beside it—planters, merchants, steamboat crews, and the towns that rose and fell with the river’s fortunes.
Like my earlier books about Southern towns and historic places, this project blends travel writing with local history and architecture. The river ties many of those stories together.
