Barns of Treasure Valley

When the book went to print, 105 historic barns were still standing across Ada and Canyon counties. Some are still in use—like the two prison barns that continue to stand majestically after more than a century. A few have been carefully restored, their craftsmanship preserved for another generation. Others are slowly surrendering to time, disintegrating shingle by shingle as boards warp and rot.

These barns were built to last and to serve a specific purpose. They stood at the center of farm life. Imagine the stories they could tell—the work that filled their lofts and stalls, the children who played in the hay, and the families who built their lives around them before moving on.

Those stories—and many more—are waiting inside this book.
