Inside the Book:
Timeless McCammon

Henry Harkness

He arrived in the future McCammon after William Murphy, the toll bridge founder, was shot and killed in Malad City.  He took over operations, married the widow Murphy, and eventually built the Harkness Ranch.

The Harrises and Greens Arrive

They were part of the founding families that eventually populated the McCammon area.  They settled in the Malad area which was very active as a stop along the wagon road to the gold fields in Montana.

The Harkness Hotel

This marked the beginning of the future McCammon. The hotel was built on the Harkness Ranch at the point where two railroads came together.  It was the logical place to build a town.

The Great Land Rush

McCammon was in its early stages when the US government opened Marsh Valley for settlement. Many of the early farmers around McCammon ran the land rush to claim their land.
